Shown here drinking wine with my favorite photographer, Helmut Newton. This must have been 1991, New Orleans, A Gallery For Fine Photography, taken by famous photog, Al Rose III's son.

this is probably only the second of two Helmut shows that the great Joshua Mann Pailet hosted for Helmie--still quite a coup.

No automatic alt text available.

his wife, June Newton, a great photog in her own right accompanied him--

i sold a beautiful $5,000 large photo that magical evening of a model after a haircut with hair all over her lovely tits to Edwin H. Neill II, RIP--

you're welcome, Josh--no commissh.

it is now hopefully bequeathed to my dearest friend, Edwin Neill III, son of Edwin Neill II and CFO of Neill Corp and Paris Parker Salon & Spa fame.

Al Rose was responsible for at least four of my favorite things:

Rediscovery and appreciation of

E. J. Bellocq's photos, as seen in his groundbreaking book on Storyville, 'Storyville, New Orleans: Being an Authentic, Illustrated Account of the Notorious Red Light District',

which led to everyone's favorite prostitute film (not Pretty Woman--oh, now i get it), Pretty Baby (film).

AND

i just found out he is in my favorite 17-part television documentary series on the history of modern pop music, directed by Tony PalmerAll You Need is Love,

AS Well as his encyclopedic knowledge and lifelong celebration of New Orleans music and culture.
